Stephanie has been practicing law since 1986 when she received her Juris Doctor from the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. She moved her law practice to Virginia in 1994 and practices primarily in the areas of Family Law and Criminal Defense. Stephanie concentrates her practice primarily in the New River Valley, including the counties of Montgomery, Giles, Floyd, Pulaski, the Town of Blacksburg and the City of Radford. Stephanie’s focus is on understanding each client’s individual needs and circumstances, educating them on their legal rights and responsibilities, and finding the best options and legal strategies to meet those client needs.

Stephanie is experienced in handling complex divorces, including custody disputes, child support, spousal support, and the division of marital property and debt. She also handles simple no-fault divorces and the negotiation and drafting of separation agreements. Stephanie assists clients who are victims of domestic abuse in obtaining family Protective Orders, as well as defending those clients who have had petitions for Protective Orders and claims of family abuse filed against them.

Stephanie has extensive experience in criminal law, representing clients charged with everything from simple traffic offenses to serious felony charges, including DUIs, alcohol related charges, larceny, drug offenses, robbery, sex offenses, simple and aggravated assaults, and homicide. She represents clients in all stages of the case including bond hearings, preliminary hearings, suppression hearings, and jury or bench trials. Stephanie also represents clients charged with probation violations, those seeking restoration of driving privileges, and the expungement of criminal records.

Stephanie is a member of the Virginia State Bar and the Kentucky Bar Association. She currently serves on the Family Law Steering Committee for the Montgomery-Radford Bar Association and the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Committee. Stephanie has been a speaker and presenter at numerous seminars in Virginia and Kentucky in the areas of Family Law and Criminal Defense, respectively.
